As part of International Women’s Day, our center organized a “Special International Women’s Day Concert

The “International Women’s Day Special Concert,” organized by the Center for Women and Family Studies, Research, and Applications as part of International Women’s Day, was held on Monday, March 9, 2026. Prior to the concert, performed by music department students Tansel Baydemir and Eren Hasan Özdemir, our university’s rector, Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Karataş, delivered a speech. In his speech, Karataş addressed the role of women in our religion and culture, while drawing attention to the oppression and human rights violations occurring in today’s world, particularly in oppressed regions. Noting that women and children are the most affected by this situation, Karataş also highlighted the importance and activities of the Center for Women and Family Studies within the university.

Dr. Hatice Polat, Director of the Center and Assistant Professor, also delivered a speech during the program. Polat highlighted the decisive role of women within societal and family structures, emphasizing the importance of academic and social initiatives in this field. Following the speeches, a concert performed by music department students was enthusiastically received by the audience.
