On December 9, 2025, Sibel Danacı, a lecturer at our University`s Faculty of Islamic Sciences, addressed the parents of students at the conference held at Mehmet Akif Ersoy Elementary School. This event, which addressed the topic of “Responsibility and Privacy,” was the seventh event in the Maarif Family Conferences series.
The conference explored in depth the topics of individuals` right to privacy and the protection of personal boundaries. It also focused on how a sense of responsibility can be developed in society and within the family, and what values individuals should act upon while fulfilling their personal and social roles. Danacı provided practical information, particularly on how families can protect their children`s privacy and instill a sense of responsibility in them.
A significant part of the conference was devoted to discussing how families can guide their children in today`s rapidly changing world and how this can be aligned with the responsibility of preparing them for the future and understanding privacy. The importance of building trust in family relationships, protecting privacy, and instilling values in children was emphasized.
The conference attracted great interest from parents, and attendees gained new perspectives on establishing a healthier balance in family communication by asking various questions based on the information shared by Sibel Danacı. Participants learned ways to guide their children appropriately while protecting their personal rights, as well as how to strengthen the sense of responsibility within the family.
Parents stated that such events strengthen family communication and that acting consciously contributes to families growing and developing together in a healthier way. They also expressed their desire for similar conferences to continue and for more parents to benefit from such training.
This conference was also an important part of the Maarif Family Conferences series. As in previous events in the series, participants gained important information about raising awareness in the family education process and creating a conscious family structure.
