The Sixth Maarif Model Family Conference Held at Güneş Elementary School

The sixth session of the “Maarif Model Family Conferences” program, conducted in collaboration between the Çankırı Karatekin University Women and Family Studies Research and Application Center and the Çankırı Provincial Directorate of National Education, was held at Güneş Primary School on November 25, 2025.

The conference was given by Dr. Ramazan Emektar, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at Çankırı Karatekin University. Focusing on the theme of “Patience,” the presentation offered third-grade parents a broad perspective by bringing together both the ancient wisdom of spiritual tradition and the findings of contemporary child psychology. The program highlighted the place of patience in the verses of the Quran and hadiths, drawing attention to the process of testing and maturation in human life. In addition, the developmental foundations of self-control, emotional regulation, waiting skills, and behavior management in children were discussed in light of scientific data.

From a pedagogical perspective, it was emphasized that patience is a fundamental character trait that supports the development of skills such as taking responsibility, setting goals, problem solving, and anger management. Practical methods that parents can apply in their daily lives were also shared in relation to scientific approaches. From a spiritual perspective, patience was evaluated as an important virtue in terms of maintaining composure in the face of difficulties, strengthening the awareness of trust and surrender, and supporting love and communication within the family.

Within this framework, the presentation aimed to help parents contribute to their children`s development process in a more conscious and supportive manner through a balanced approach based on both religious-spiritual sources and pedagogical realities.
